The Ultimate Christmas Gift Guide

Updated: Mar 6, 2021

Christmas is just around the corner so we thought we would share some gift ideas with you all. Whether the gift is for your daughter, sister, friend or even yourself, we have created a guide with students in mind.

Planners

As the New Year approaches receiving a planner is a thoughtful Christmas gift. In our post on tips for getting and staying organised we shared how having a planner is not only a great way of keeping track of tasks but is also good for time management. Different planners can include academic, weekly, monthly and the list goes on but for this guide we are focusing on some Christian planners that we love.

The 'Purposeful Life Planner' by Purposeful Daughters features Monthly Goal/To-Do List Planning for the following areas: personal, spiritual, family and career. Other features include sections for monthly thoughts and prayers and verse of the year. This planner comes in two different designs and is great gift for students.

Another amazing planner we have been loving and looking forward to using in 2021 is the 'Equipped and Empowered 2021 Calendar' by ASOLAH. This calendar features uplifting quotations from scripture and inspirational Black Women such as Michelle Obama. This calendar is perfect for taking a glance of what is happening each month and adding notes.

Please Note: The calendars will not have the watermark featured in the pictures

Stationery

It would not be a gift guide for students if stationery was not on the list. From notebooks to pens, stationery is an essential for studying.

A particular favourite gift idea of ours is journals. Journals can be used for different things such as writing down thoughts, prayers, memories and so much more.

The 'He Restores My Soul' journal by Honey Luxe is a beautifully designed prayer journal. Based on Psalm 23:3 the journal is not only a great reminder of how amazing God is but also features tips on how to use the Prayer Journal and scripture references for different feelings. This journal is the gift that keeps on giving as each purchased journal comes with a special gift. How can you resist!

Books and Accessories

Christmas is a good time to gift someone the books they have had on their wish list for the past six months. These books could include books specifically for their course, books related to their interests or books that you think they would love. With a bit of a break between Christmas and the New Year, you can't go wrong with books.

A few of our book recommendations include Radiant by Priscilla Shirer, She Believes: Embracing the Life You Were Created to Live by Debbie Lindell and Susy Flory & Live Fearless A Call to Power, Passion, and Purpose by Sadie Robertson.

Devotionals are also a lovely gift. Some of our favourites include She Prays: A 31-Day Journey to Confident Conversations with God by Debbie Lindell, Unshakeable: 365 Devotions for Finding Unwavering Strength in God's Word by Christine Caine & Awaken: 90 Days with the God who Speaks by Priscilla Shirer.

Some accessories that make the process of reading easier are bible tabs, magnetic bookmarks and a reading light.

Deck the Halls

Whether you are in university halls or at home, decking out your room with different items will help to create a space you'll love.

If the person you would like to gift has a particular colour or pattern scheme, gifts like cushions and throws are fantastic for comfort and could go with their décor. Asolah have a beautiful range of gifts that will brighten up any room, including this cushion cover below.

Another simple but effective gift idea is gifting the individuals with pictures or prints. With many restrictions in halls, pictures are a nice way of having something in your room that is full of memories. We would also recommend prints as the designs can be very inspirational. One of our favourite places to buy prints is the Little Eden Studio.

Pamper Hamper

Gifts for pampering do not necessarily need to come in a hamper but they are a necessity. In our last reminder post we stressed the importance of rest, relaxation and recuperation as students. Between studies, assessments and life, pamper gifts are great way to take a break and recharge.

Around this time of the year shops are filled with gift sets and stocking fillers. Some of our favourite pamper gifts include facemasks, foot masks and anything that can create a spa-like experience in the comfort of our own homes.

Gift cards/vouchers

With countless gift cards and vouchers available, you may be thinking which one to go for.

Most gift cards featured in supermarkets or online include various stores such as retail, food and travel. Gift cards such as the One4all would give the person receiving the gift a variety of options as the balance could be spent at more than one store.

Gift cards/vouchers for specific shops also come in handy. Shops such as Asda have different gift cards available. One option is the Student Parent Card where you can either top-up the balance as much or as little as you like or set up a recurring top-up. Other specified gift cards such as Amazon gift cards are also great because Amazon provides a large range of products.

We could not end this guide without including the greatest gift of all, Jesus Christ. The birth of Jesus Christ is celebrated as He came to Earth to make the greatest sacrifice of dying for our sins. Many passages show the life of Jesus and how much He sacrificed for each and every one of us.

We hope that this guide has been helpful and given you inspiration for the students in your life.
